Air Show Atlantic kicks off ticket campaign and contest in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation Atlantic Canada, supported by WestJet and Mark's Work Wearhouse.
Air Show Atlantic kicks off ticket campaign and contest in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation Atlantic Canada, supported by WestJet and Mark\'s Work Wearhouse. "Promoting the Show and giving fans a chance to buy tickets while supporting this great organization is a terrific Community partnership", says Colin Stephenson, Executive Director of the Show. "We look for opportunities to support the Community and leave as much money here as we can. This will make a great prize for our winner and create buzz about our event at the same time."
The benefit that the Make-A-Wish Foundation receives is that proceeds from the sales will go to the organization. WestJet has provided a pair of tickets to anywhere on their regular schedule as the prize. "Only the first five thousand tickets sold will be automatically entered into the draw", says Stephenson. "They can now be bought at our co-sponsor locations of Mark\'s Work Wearhouse across the Maritimes or online at airshowatlantic.ca."
The Air Show annually engages many community organizations who work for the Show in exchange for monetary support. This year in PEI it is no exception - current participants include: the Prince County Hospital Foundation, the Air Cadet League, 200 Wing of the Air Force Association, Generation XX, the PEI Regiment Association and more. Aside from the community suppliers that are engaged for technical expertise and materials, the Show counts on these groups who will total more that 200 volunteers, for the labour involved in staging the Show.
For more information on the Show planned for August 27-28 and the full list of performers, fans can go to the website www.airshowatlantic.ca and sign up to get all the latest details and special offers. This will be the first Air Show at the former CFB Summerside base since the early nineties and will be themed around the 70th anniversary of the founding of the base as a part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan in World War Two.
